This 5
page report discusses David Burner’s 1988 book on John F. Kennedy
and his influence in shaping the American consciousness. His
in-depth discussion of John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) as both an
individual and a leader allows the reader to examine the changes
that took place in the American political and social systems that
were reflected in the hopeful days of Kennedy’s “Camelot.” David
Burner clearly admired President Kennedy and does not bring up
any of the more sordid details of Kennedy’s life that have been

Kennedy/Preparing for the 21st Century
[ send me this paper ]
A 2 page book review that analyzes Preparing for the Twenty-first Century by Paul Kennedy. Beginning with the concern that Malthus expressed two hundred years ago in regards to the England's eighteenth-century population explosion, Kennedy then proceeds to relate this to the current rate of growth of the world's population. He argues quite convincingly that the ecological problems of the later part of the twentieth century will become critical as the world enters the new millennium. The central theme of Kennedy's book is that education will play an intrinsic role in whether or not the world can support the estimated 10 billion human beings that will soon be living here.
